On the 2nd December 2017, Dopie, FoxByTrade, Link and MTFour began playing Rust together as a group on a server named "Area 51 10x Gather | Teleport | InstaCraft and more" which was run by a player known as [UHL]MULE. In the following days, more friends began joining in such as: CtXanatos, Simba, Robin, TaoZu and OwnedSage. At the time, the server was very popular and holding a base proved to be a challenge, but luckily due to our large numbers, we kept raids at bay. After just under a week on the 8th December 2017, the group had grown to 9 people, so it was suggested and agreed that a clan would be formed under the name "TUSKEN", which is based off the Star Wars species which specialises in raiding and scavenging. Another reason behind the name was that it was similar to a clan a most TUSKEN members were part of in the past called JAWA.

As more members joined, Link decided to create a logo on the 11th December 2017, and 4 days later he registered tusken.org and created a basic website to list some essential information such as server information, members and how to buy Rust for any other friends wanting to join. During this time, the clan began having regular wars and interactions with a group called Mule (Not to be confused with the server owned [UHL]MULE). Sadly, Area 51 began to lose masses of players and so it was decided that we'd try and find another server. During their time on Area 51, TUSKEN made friends with a highly skilled group called FEAR which was managed by PEACEMAKER and notkiller1. They went on to create their own server called RustyNation on the 21st December 2017, which TUSKEN gladly joined in order to help out. Sadly during the week that followed, a lot of members expressed their dismay with how the server was being operated, which lead to a verbal confrontation between TUSKEN and FEAR. It was agreed on the 27th December 2017 that they would continue their search for a server and leave Area 51/FEAR behind.

With a wipe coming up, different members began searching for a new place to call home, and on the 4th January 2018, it was decided that TUSKEN would settle on an iRusty server called "1/4 | Rusty | US | 3X | LowPop | Insta | TP | Loot | Kits | Events | 2Week" which seemed to fit in with everything we wanted from a server.
