Vision
Quite honestly I’m not sure how this idea popped into my head last month, I just suddenly wanted to make a map retrospective series, and I knew the first one I wanted to do was Sith Council V2. It’s truly iconic in the game, I think every player, especially older ones, knows of its existence and has likely played it.
I sent the map maker Kahn an email, asking if he’d be interesting and to my surprise he was very eager, which made the process of setting this up a lot smoother. It turned out that there was A LOT more to the map than people realised, which is funny, because the map is most known for its secrets, and 20 years later, we’re still finding them.

Much like most of my content, I battled with the “Will anyone other than me really care about this?” the answer turned out to be yes, but even so, I think I’m becoming accustomed to not caring if it gets 1 set of eyes or many.
This was the first time I’ve ever used jaMME, which is a client side mod that allows you to playback recorded demos and view it as a timeline. It’s a true movie making mod that is extremely powerful. I’ve wanted to learn it for years but I kept running into issues. I knew if I wanted this project to be the best it could be, I needed smooth camera angles. Thankfully my friend Blunt was on hand to figure it out with me.
When Kahn began sharing how much the map was personal to him, he provided me with photos, videos and other nuggets which really fleshed the video out even more.
This was A LOT of fun to put together.
Feedback
Legendary map for the secrets alone, but the overall vibe and nostalgia for that era of mapping is just next level. To modern standards it could be considered an eyesore to those that didn’t form memories on it but for the rest of us, it helped define our Jedi Academy multiplayer experience. Amazing and extremely well done video. We need more!

Incredibly good video and nice to see some of the thought process in this iconic map.

Fantastic video, a fun treat to actually hear from the man himself! The production clearly shows a love and appreciation for the map that many of us old school players share. You should definitely make other videos like this, BlueIce Twilight could be interesting to hear about for example

Music
I once again agonised over the music, it’s so difficult to find the exact sort of vibe you’re looking for, but eventually I found it thanks to Breaking Copyright. I couldn’t find the right music for the intro however, so I once again had to buy a license from AudioNetwork.
