My Own Game
This is I think unobtainable at this point unfortunately. I’ve tried my best to make something myself but it’s just such a difficult process that involves a lot of coding experience and time dedication, neither of which I have.
In an ideal world, I’d love to work with a a bunch of friends, one of whom might be a coder and at least part or fully design it with them. That’d be so, so cool. The closest I’ve gotten to building a game was Seaborne, a GB Studio game I tried to create a couple of years ago and I guess you could add Name That Pokémon! to that list, that was a lot of fun making in SQL and PHP.
I think ultimately, I’ll only scratch this off with my board game idea, Gravitact which I’ve mostly finished, I just need to get the board/pieces physically made (And playtest it to death). Someday!
Super Nintendo World
I’ve been to a lot of theme parks and I’ve always left them feeling… a bit bored? They’re usually not very tailored to my tastes. I think the only really fun times I’ve had at a theme park were when I was much younger and at cosy theme parks like Gulliver’s World / Camelot.
When I heard Nintendo was making their own theme park, honestly, I couldn’t had been more excited. Although my love for Nintendo has been on a bit of a decline over the last few years of blatant greed, it still holds a big place in my heart ever since I was little.
The problem is, of course, the location. There are currently three, and they’re all very far away from me right now:
- Osaka, Japan
- California, USA
- Florida, USA
If I’m ever in these parts of the world again, or if one opens up in Europe, I’m going to be spending a lot of time there, and probably a bit of money.
The Northern Lights
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love astronomy. I could talk for days about about space, physics and everything relating to it. One of my dreams is to visit somewhere like Greenland and see the auroras (Northern Lights) in person.
Fun fact: The most beautiful auroras are produced when the Sun becomes a little more active than usual, letting out significantly more charged particles, which travel along Earth’s magnetic field and collide with gases high in the atmosphere as they race towards the poles.
Every time I’ve been told the aurora might be visible from the UK, I’ve never been that interested because I know it won’t be nearly as spectacular as somewhere like Greenland. That’s because Greenland sits beneath the auroral oval, where the Northern Lights are seen most often and at their brightest. It also has some of the darkest skies on Earth, so light pollution rarely gets in the way.
The Real Night’s Sky
Speaking of light pollution and dark skies, seeing the night sky in its full beauty once again is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I’ll never forget when I visited family in New Zealand around 2001 when I was 11, I was walking around my Aunt’s house and she called me over outside on the balcony. I walked over and looked up, it actually shocked me to my core… it was like nothing I’ve ever seen before or since. The entire sky was on fire, everything was visible, nothing was hidden, it didn’t seem real? I could see THOUSANDS of stars, galaxies and our own Milky Way galaxy. It genuinely felt alien to me, growing up with perhaps 3-4 very visible stars in the sky.
Around 10-15 years ago I read an article about a tiny island called Sark. It was given the title of the world’s first ever “Dark Night Island”, and more importantly it is located in the English Channel, very close by and only an hour by plane. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to go there, and I had actually planned to do it in 2020, but of course, COVID-19 hit which ruined those plans.
Fun fact: There are no street lights on the island, cars are actually banned and residents are encouraged to turn all lights off by 10pm. This ensures that the island keeps its Dark Sky status, and gives the residents and visitors a chance to appreciate the true beauty of the night’s sky.

The Wonders of Alexandria
I love Egyptology, and ever since watching Cosmos, I’ve been absolutely fascinated with Alexandria in Egypt. I was introduced to the show by my old friends Helena and Yunie around 2010, and it really had a big impact on my life in general. A story for another time.
Alexandria housed some of the greatest wonders you wouldn’t normally hear in the conversation of “Wonders of the World”, such as The Great Library of Alexandria and The Lighthouse of Alexandria. It’s the second biggest city in Egypt, and often overlooked for its amazing sights and history over Giza and Cairo. I would love to go there and see all the sights for myself, and to just gaze at the surviving relics of Egypt’s incredible past.
The Beautiful Island of Samos
Much like Alexandria, Samos is another place I’ve been drawn to since watching Cosmos.
I love Greece, I’ve been 6 times as of this post. Kos in 1994, Aegina and Athens in 2004, Thasos in 2007, Crete in 2012 and 2014 and finally Rhodes a few years ago in 2023. Rhodes, is by far my favourite so far but I get the feeling that Samos would dethrone it. After seeing it in Cosmos and hearing about its history, I can’t wait to explore it the island, eat all the food and relax on the bay.
New York Pizza Tour
During COVID, I got very interested in making pizza, like a lot of fellow bored people. I made quite a lot of pizzas myself, some were hideous, some were the best I’ve ever eaten. It’s really difficult to make a consistently “good” pizza, but there are some places that I really want to try in New York. The city is known for its pizza, which it takes as serious business.
I’ve never been to NYC, but I’ve eaten incredible pizza in different areas of the USA. In my limited experience, the best pizzas in the world come from USA, then Greece and then Italy. I’m sure anyone reading this would expect Italy to be #1 on that ranking, and they do make incredible pizza, duh, but the Greeks make the best overall food in the world, and Americans are just the best pizza makers, it’s as simple as that in my eyes.
I’d love to visit lots of the hotspots in New York and basically gorge for a week.
A pizza I had in Hawaii in 2024, it’s still my favourite so far.
